The Earmark Letter is sent out quarterly. Short pieces point to old and new good reads, event recommendations, and upcoming submission prompts.

Novella submission are year round. We choose one in Spring and one in Fall for publication.

The art of writing is to listen and reading is a way to listen. Paper Ear is a place to do both. We design small books. Write for us, read us.
We welcome writers from around the world. We enjoy a variety of viewpoints looking for connection and authentic voices—write what you know, experience, observe, feel. Every voice is valid but that doesn’t mean we print just anything. The readers enjoy kind and embracing philosophies, astute observations, and frank realities.
Follow “the rules” enough to keep us focused, include creative bends to keep us reading. We enjoy a sense of place, vivid concise descriptions, and an occasional touch of humor.
